Sanjeev Ganesh Naik

Mr Sanjeev Ganesh Naik like his father Mr Ganesh Naik was quite keen on the serving the masses and as providence would have it became the first Mayor of the satellite City of Navi Mumbai. What was worthy to note was that he was one of the youngest Mayor in the world/India at the age of 23.
He is also professionally associated with NCP both in his personal capacity as well as political capacity.
Sri Sanjeev Naik always identified himself with the issues which affected the common man and all his efforts were always directed to ensure that the city of Navi Mumbai truly becomes a city of the 21st century.

His Mission
He pioneered the cause of Polio Pulse through the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and also ensured that NGO’s actively participated in this cause which was a national program.
The Morbe Dam water Project which promised to provide 24 hours water to this satellite city was also his dream project.

His Vision
It was under his tenure that he campaigned for a clean and green Navi Mumbai and his efforts were appreciated when the municipal corporation of Navi Mumbai was awarded the Best City for cleanliness in Maharashtra.
Continuing his efforts for ensuring that the best of health services are provided even to the poor at affordable prices a 150-bedded municipal hospital was established in Navi Mumabi which had all the facilities including operation theatres, Burns, ward, Blood Bank etc.
He also ensured that that sanitation is adequate in a growing city and was instrumental in numerous toilets in various nodes of Navi Mumbai.
It was during his tenure that the beautification of Public Gardens was undertaking to ensure that the city was always green and pollution free. This was followed by many Landmark structures that were built in numerous roads which added to the beauty of the city.

His strength

In the field of education he ensured that the top rankers in standard tenth and twelth were honored. Not only the students but the teachers who groomed the students were also recognized by instituting an award for the best teacher.
Sanjeev Naik’s strength lies in his stature as a mass leader since his advent in politics. Whether in or out of power has always championed the cause of the common man. This has endeared him to all segments of the Cong NCP party as well.
Even after becoming the mayor of NMMC makes it a point to address all the problems are brought before his directly by people, cutting through bureaucratic hurdles, every day.

His Philosophy of life

He was instrumental and ensured the overall growth of the city in all its aspects. His soft corner for women leads him to institute the Mahila and Balvikas Kalyan Yojana which benefitted the underprivileged women in the city towards gainful employment.
Sanjeev Naik strongly believes that the human life is a boon provided by the Almighty to share on blessings with others, while serving less privileged human beings.
Don’t count the years you want to live. Ask jarful self  how much you have done for society at large with what opportunities the almighty has provided you is Sanjeev Naik word of advice for those who have excuses for doing even what is within their means.

His Motto

Sanjeev Naik motto is that the ultimate objective of any program executed under a democratic set-up should prompt and dependable delivery of services to the common man.
He was also fond of sports and it was under his leadership that the Navi Mumbai well built Body Trophy was instituted.
A number of centers with social objectives were established throughout Navi Mumbai under his guidance and support.
