Navi Mumbai has been promised a new renovated and state of the art railway station, Navi Mumbai has been assured of additional ticket counters and repairing of dilapidated foot over bridges.
Work on the renovation of Thane railway station has commenced. Said Naik, “Many problems and faced It is my duty as their representative is to ensure that I solve all their grievances. The Thane station is one of the busiest. There are many commuters who use it. Renovation the railway station will ensure commuters will have a comfortable commute and that they will be able to travel comfortably.”
About Navi Mumbai Naik said, “I have asked for the starting of repairs of the dilapidated foot over bridge at Sanpada. I will allocate Rs 5 lakh form my fund for the same. I have also asked for additional tickt counters for residents of the city. Navi Mumbai is progressing rapidly and commuters must be able to trevel fast. Additional ticket counters will help them in this regards.”
Naik also reaised the issue fof announcements of train arrival and departure on the Thane-Panvel line, He said that many commuters had faced problems as they did not hear the announcements.
Replying to Naik’s queries and suggestions, Central Railway’s Divisional Regional manager SC Chauhan said, “I will personally look into the matter. Announcements will resume again, latest by January 31. We will also start additional ticket counters at Rabale, Seawoods, and Sanpada railway stations.”
The railway administration also assured Naik that all CVM machines used to validate ticket coupons will be repaired on a Priority basis.
About the Thane railway station, Chauhan said, “Our aim is to make it one of the best railway stations in the world. Fund allocated is Rs 5 crore for the same. The fund has been released and we will start the tendering process soon. Among the major components of project are two flyovers each of 12 meters width passing through the middle of the railway platforms to connect the east and west.”
The railway lines at Kopri had been held up on account of disagreement between the shiv Sena controlled Thane Municipal corporation and the Railways. In fact, Central Railway has already erected columns on either side.
“We will try to resume the work on the flyover in the coming days and will try to finish the work on a priority basis,” said senior Central Railway DCM Atul Rane.
Thane district MP Sanjeev Naik Said “I will personally take up the matter with the Municipal Commissioner of Thane.”
